23-year-old medical student arrested by oshiwara police for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl

The Oshiwara police have arrested a 23-year-old medical student for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl from his neighbourhood on Thursday evening.

The accused who is a final year student of Pharmacy had lured the girl to watch television at his house on Thursday when the girl’s parents were out for work. According to the Oshiwara police officers the girl and her parents stay on rent in the house owned the father of the accused at Jogeshwari west. On Thursday evening when the accused was alone called the girlinside his house to watch TV and raped her. He then threatened her to quite about the incident however when the girl’s mother returned, the girl told her the entire incident.

The girl’s mother then approached the police and registered a case against the accused.

Within minutes of registering the complaint, the Oshiwara police officers arrested the accused from his house.

The accused has been arrested on the charges of rape under sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) 2012.

“We have arrested the accused and will present him before the court,” said a police officer from Oshiwara police station.
