The Bombay High Court on Friday heard the petition of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and gave a big blow to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Now in this case, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that Shiv Sena-ruled BMC will study the High Court verdict before deciding any further steps in the case of demolition in Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow. Not only this, She has also used objectionable language for Kangana.
She said, ‘We are also surprised. An actress who lives in Himachal and calls our Mumbai PoK. “Do Takke K Log”” want to make the court an arena of politics are wrong. Because this is not a matter of revenge. She was heavily trolled on social media. We will study what the court has decided.
She said that the orders given by the High Court in the past regarding section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act will also be looked into. Section 354A empowers the municipal body and its officials to stop any illegal construction. Pendekar told reporters that the actress was issued a 354A notice under the MMA Act and followed due process.
“The 354A notice was issued not only to the actress but also to many others,” she said. She was challenged in court by several people. “We have not yet received a copy of the verdict, but I will talk to the legal department and corporation commissioner on this issue and assess the court order.”
Earlier in the day, the Bombay High Court on September 9 had termed BMC’s action of demolishing parts of Ranaut’s bungalow illegal and said it smelled of malfeasance. The bench of Justice SJ Kathwalla and Justice RI Chagla Said that it is appointing M / s Shetagiri as Assessing Officer to assess the loss to determine the amount of compensation to be paid to Ranaut.
