Mumbai – Indradev Pandey

An assistant police inspector attached to APMC police station has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest by using his service revolver on Sunday morning while on duty at the police station.

The API has been identified as Bhushan Pawar, was rushed to MGM hospital in Vashi, where he was declared ‘brought dead’.

DCP (zone 1) S Mengade said, “It is learnt that API Bhushan Pawar was visibly depressed for several months. But he didn’t share it with his colleagues. Although the senior police officers visit the police stations every week and ask their subordinates to share their personal problems, if any, to try to resolve them, API Pawar had not reveal the reason for his depression and attempted suicide.”
