A thirty-seven year-old woman was allegedly stabbed by her friend near Mumbai’s KEM hospital in Parel on Sunday.
According to police officials from Bhoiwada police station, the victim Kavita Anand Kamble, 37, who worked as a contract worker for a Covid facility, was stabbed in her abdomen by one Rajesh Kale, 36, on the Batliwala road near KEM hospital in Parel on Sunday.
The incident happened at around 2:45 pm and it is suspected that the accused Kale was jilted as the woman had called off her relationship with him. Officials suspect that victim and the accused were earlier in a relationship but the woman ended the relationship with him due to which Kale attacked the victim.
The victim was stabbed in her abdomen with a sharp weapon. The accused also suffered injury on his leg with the same weapon. Seeing the incident, a passerby rushed to the spot and the accused was held with the help of police personnel present near the KEM hospital.
Both the victim and the accused were admitted to the KEM hospital for treatment. The Bhoiwada police have registered a case under section 307 for attempt to murder against the accused Rajesh Kale. The victim is a resident of Govandi while the accused resides in Kurla in Mumbai.
