REDEVELOPMENT WORK PENDING SINCE 2 YEARS DUE TO ABHORRENT DEMAND OF LANDLADY SHUBHADA MAHAJAN

Mumbai-Sadik Bamboat

58, Jayshree niwas located at Bazar rd, Bandra (w), Mumbai-50, was declared as C-1 category in audit done by BMC as well as by the owner of the above said property.

The residents of the above mentioned building vacated 2 years ago and structure was demolished on 26/07/2019 by the BMC. From past 2 years, residents have been requesting the owner to repair/redevelop the building, but the owners Shubhada Mahajan & Suhas Mahajan, out of the universe demands have made several developers/builders run away, most of whom were willing to offer her money as well as additional rooms along with the existing ones and also rent to the tenants and maximum carpet area as possible depending on the measurement of their particular rooms as per MCGM norms. But the greedy owner is adamant on senseless demands & has left the innocent residents homeless to live on street. The only mistake of the residents is that they time and again begged her for repair but had to live risking their lives & now for the greed of the owner left homeless. Such greedy/selfish human beings should be prosecuted so that other landlords do not make mockery of the tenants in their building and leave them homeless & helpless. The owner left the premises as soon as the BMC had cut water & electricity connection and the poor helpless tenant had nowhere to take shelter and were forced to live without water & electricity but eventually even that roof is gone from their head from past 2 years.

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic and lockdown, tenants are living in dreadful condition with no roof on their head, many are jobless which earn meagre income and are sole breadwinners of their family, how will they manage to pay hefty rent, it is becoming difficult for them to make both ends meet. I request you to kindly intervene since all the tenants are in desperate need of permanent solution and earliest construction of the building so that they can live in their home and not roam from pillar to post. Tenants have contacted MLA Ashish Shelar several times, but no help from his side too, his only reply is that he cannot do anything apart from requesting the owner. kindly look into this issue asap
