30 Years Old Businessman Arrested By Juhu Police From Five Star Hotel For Allegedly Raping 24-Year-Old Lady
The Juhu police have arrested a 30-year-old businessman from a five star hotel near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for allegedly raping a 24-year-old after promising her marriage.
The Juhu police officers who had put out a look out notice for the accused, were informed that he was going to return to Mumbai from his home town in Rajasthan via air. The police kept a watch on the accused as soon as he entered his room in a five star hotel, he was apprehended, “Devasi was in Mumbai for a business meeting and was returning to Rajasthan in a few hours as he was aware that he was wanted by the police,” said Shashikant Mane, senior police inspector of Juhu police station.
According to the Juhu police the woman who works in a private firm had met the accused identified as Pukhraj Devasi alias Rajeev on Instagram. He had commented on her photo once after which the two began chatting in 2019. After a few months of dating each other Devasi, who is a mobile spare parts dealer proposed to the victim. Devasi then rented a apartment at Lallubhai Park in Vile Parle and raped the victim there several times by promising to marry her. Devasi had borrowed Rs 35 lakhs from the victim for business when the couple was together.
On May 29th when the accused stopped answering the victim’s calls and started ignoring her demand to return her money, the woman approached the Juhu police and registered a complaint.
“We have arrested Devasi for rape under sections 376, 420, 506, 376 (J) (N) of the Indian Penal Code. He will be produced before the court on Sunday, Where The Court Send Accused In Police Custody Till 6 June Said Mane
