Vote counting for the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat will begin at 8AM. While all 14 seats of Jharkhand will be closely monitored, special attention will be on Ranchi. BJP has fielded the incumbent MP, Sanjay Seth from Ranchi. Mr. Seth will be contesting against Congress‘ Yashaswini Sahay. Back in 2019, Sanjay Seth contested against Yashaswini’s father, Subodh Kant Sahay. Mr. Seth ofBJP secured 7,06,828 votes (57.21% vote share) while Mr. Sahay ofCongress secured 4,23,802 votes (34.3% vote share).
Ranchi is a bell weather seat. It voted forCongress in 2004 and 2009 and forBJP in 2014 and 2019.
