Teacher held for abusing three minor students in Thane | Thane News

AMBERNATH: The Ambernath police arrested a 28-year-old teacher for allegedly physically abusing three minor male students in a school in Ambernath.
The police said the incident took place between June and August. However, the incident came to light when three students, aged between 9 and 15, were not going to school for many days, prompting their parents to make enquiries with them, which revealed the entire incident.
The parents later shared details with an NGO, which on Friday approached the local Ambernath police to inform them about the incident.
The police, immediately taking serious note of the issue, recorded the statement of the victim and subsequently, after registering an FIR, arrested the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The accused was produced before the court on Saturday, which remanded the accused to police custody until December 10.
