NEW DELHI: A one-year-old lion cub fell into a farm well in Lodhva village of Sutrapada taluka, Junagadh, Gujarat on Tuesday morning.
The authorities successfully retrieved the cub and transported it to Amrapur Animal Care Center for further care and observation.
Earlier loco pilots of Western Railway (WR) successfully prevented eight lions from being run over by trains over two consecutive days in Gujarat, officials from the Bhavnagar Division reported on Sunday.
They stated that the Bhavnagar Division enforces stringent wildlife protection measures, particularly for lions. Train operators remain vigilant and adhere to speed limits. Thanks to collaborative efforts between train operators and forest department trackers, 104 lions were protected during the fiscal year.
