THANE: A 47-year-old man who left home for his native place on Friday was found dead by hanging from a tree in a desolate area outside the Kalwa carshed two days later, railway police officials informed on Monday.
The railway police said the man, identified as N Kolhe, a resident of Sawarkar Nagar in Thane, left his home early last Friday, informing his family that he was going to his hometown.
However, as the man who works for a local school remained unreachable since then, his worried family members reported a missing person complaint with the Vartak Nagar police station the following day.
Meanwhile, the Thane railway police were alerted about an unidentified man found hanging from a tree in a desolate area outside the Kalwa car shed near the Kharegaon railway overbridge on Sunday afternoon.
Following initial investigations, the railway police established the identity of the dead person as Kolhe and accordingly informed his family.
“The deceased worked with a local private school and, prima facie, there seems to be no professional or domestic conflicts. He is survived by his wife and two children.
We have registered an accidental death case, and further investigations may be taken up after speaking to the wife and family members of the deceased,” informed an official from the Thane railway police station.
