Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Host Amitabh Bachchan reveals all the outfits he wore in the film Kabhi Kabhie were his own; says ‘Abhi tak woh kapde wapas nahi aaye..’

The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 started with Amitabh Bachchan welcoming the audience and rollover contestant Prashant Tripathi on the new episode. Prashant Tripathi, an accountant with the Revenue Department from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh expresses his happiness of being on the show. He becomes emotional as he recounts being abandoned by his family for marrying someone from a different caste. Prashant shares with Mr. Bachchan how the poetry of his father, Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan, has been a source of inspiration for him. He also reveals that before appearing on KBC, he prayed to Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan for his journey on the show. Touched by this heartfelt gesture, host Big B thanks Prashant for the tribute to his father and assures him that he will always cherish the memory. Prashant calls Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan his software.

Host Amitabh Bachchan shared a fascinating anecdote about working on the film Kabhi Kabhie. He revealed that he was juggling between two vastly different projects, Deewar and Kabhi Kabhie, within just two days. While Deewar was action-packed, Kabhi Kabhie focused on romance and music. Bachchan admitted to expressing his concerns to producer-director Yash Chopra about whether he could handle such contrasting roles simultaneously. He also shared all the clothes he wore in the film were his own.
Big B shared, “Ye joh film thi Kabhi Kabhie, Deewar ki shooting chal rahi thi aur Deewar aisi film thi usmein ladayi jhagda sab tha, aur uske do din ke baad jaana tha Kashmir, Kabhi Kabhie ki shooting ke liye, ek dum romantic, phool, paudhe, hawa, thandak laga ke achanak wahan se kaise? Yash ji ko humne kahan, bada ajeeb hai aur unhone bola kuch nahi sab theek hojaayega..”
He further added, “Maine aise he pooch liya ke bhaisahab kapde kya honge kuch aaya nahi, do din ke andar aana hai yahan (Kashmir). Unhone bola apne ghar se joh bhi ho pehen ke aajana sab badhiya hai. Joh bhi kapde aapne dekhe na uss film mein woh sab humare apne hain… aur ek baat batayein woh log bura maan jaayenge abhi tak woh kapda wapas nahi aaya.. (laughs).”

Prashant’s wife humorously shares a complaint with Big B about his habits. Adding to the humour, she shares that whenever they have an argument and her voice gets louder, he gifts her a book on how to behave with others.
Hearing her playful complaints, Big B bursts into laughter. She playfully requests the host to share some tips with her husband on how to become a better husband once he leaves the show. She also reveals that Prashant is often so lost in his thoughts that it frequently results in minor accidents. Host Amitabh Bachchan has a gala time listening to the stories and guides him about making efforts in understanding his wife.
Prashant opens up about his love story with Jyotika and how their paths first crossed. He shares that they worked in the same office, where she was his senior. Their relationship faced numerous challenges, as he is younger than her and they come from different castes. Additionally, his family opposed their marriage—his mother had passed away, and his father had remarried, leaving Prashant without anyone to offer moral support or guidance. He gets emotional talking about his wife’s support and how his family has abandoned them. Big B comforts Prashant and says that the country is changing. He gives his won example how his father was a Kayastha and gave up his surname and now use Bachchan as their surname. He requests Prashant’s family to accept their relationship.
