Telugu star Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail on Saturday morning after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail in connection with the tragic incident that occurred during the premiere of his latest film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre on December 4. Following his release, Allu Arjun’s father and producer, Allu Aravind, addressed the press at their Jubilee Hills residence.
Addressing the reporters gathered there, Allu Aravind said, “Because national media is here, I want to thank all the media throughout the country who has given extraordinary support to Mr. Bunny during his film’s (Pushpa 2: The Rule) success and during yesterday’s events. I, particularly, bow to the media for the support you have given. Thank you very much.” This marks the first time Aravind has spoken to the press since Arjun’s arrest.
Visibly relieved to have his son back home, Aravind had been spotted at Chanchalguda Jail on Friday evening awaiting his son’s release. Frustrated by delays in the bail process, he eventually booked a cab and left for home, looking disappointed. Earlier during Arjun’s arrest, Aravind had attempted to ride with him in the police vehicle but was dissuaded by both the police and Arjun himself.

Following his release, Allu Arjun addressed the media, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support he received and emphasizing his commitment to cooperating with the ongoing investigation. “I thank everyone for the love and support. I want to thank all my fans. There is nothing to worry about. I am fine. I am a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate,” he said.
The actor also extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, stating, “We are extremely sorry for the family. I will personally be there to help them in whatever way possible.”
Clarifying his role in the incident, Arjun reiterated that he had no direct involvement, as the tragic event occurred outside the theatre while he was inside watching the movie with his family. “It was purely accidental and unintentional… I have been going to the same theatre for the last 20 years, and I have been to the same place more than 30 times. There has never been an accident like this before. I should reserve my comments because I don’t want to say anything that will tamper with the case,” he added.
The Pushpa 2 star’s release has brought temporary relief to his family and fans, while the investigation into the incident continues.
