Fire breaks out at Mumbai highrise; elderly woman hospitalised

MUMBAI: Fire broke out in a flat on the sixth floor of Fortune Enclave Building on the 14th Road at Bandra West, at around 1am on Tuesday.
One senior citizen female was found unconscious on the eighth floor flat. She was rescued by the firemen and was rushed to Bhabha Hospital. Her condition is stable.
Around 13 people were rescued from different floors. Nine people, including eight women on the 15th floor were rescued by firemen through the staircase.
Four more people were rescued from the second and the eighth floor. The fire was confined to the flat on the sixth floor of the ground plus 15-floored high-rise.
The building was evacuated and the fire was extinguished at around 3.20am.
The injured 80-year-old has been identified as Sati Gopal Parayani. The Mumbai Fire Brigade had declared it as a level one fire.
