KALYAN: In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Pramod (Raju) Patil, the only MLA from Kalyan Rural in Maharashtra from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, lost the election by about 66,396 votes. Shiv Sena registered a strong victory on the Kalyan Rural seat. If political sources are to be believed, Shiv Sena MP and Chief Minister’s son, Eknath Shinde, made this seat a matter of prestige.
It may be recalled that recently MNS’s Pramod Patil helped Shrikant Shinde in the Lok Sabha elections, but Shrikant believed that this seat belonged to Shiv Sena before MNS and Shiv Sainiks were behind his victory.Although BJP decided to help MNS on this seat, later, following the principles of Mahayuti, BJP also withdrew its support from Patil and started working for More’s victory.
If sources are to be believed, when Shrikant made Rajesh More the candidate against Raju Patil on this seat, he said that Mahayuti would make such a worker win who would be available among the people 24 hours a day. After this, Raju Patil took a dig at Shrikant Shinde and said that he knows the level of the Chief Minister and his son. It is said that this statement of Patil hurt Shrikant Shinde, after which Shrikant Shinde put all his strength into making More win, and now More has won this seat with a lead of more than 60,000.
After the victory, More took out a grand rally in which Shrikant himself was involved. The Kalyan Rural seat came into existence in 2009. The first MNS candidate was elected from here, but later in 2014, the MNS candidate lost the election, and Shiv Sena’s Subhash Bhoir won. However, in 2019, Raju Patil from MNS won this seat and emerged as the only MLA in the whole of Maharashtra, but now MNS lost this seat of Kalyan Rural, including the elections being fought by MNS at many seats in the whole of Maharashtra.
