KALYAN: BJP’s Kishan Kathore won the Murbad assembly constituency, which became more challenging than ever due to a secret challenge from his own party in the form of former union minister Kapil Patil and the withdrawal of Shiv Sena’s Vaman Mhatre from the campaign due to displeasure.
Kishan Kathore won the election by a margin of 52,392 votes against NCP (SP) candidate Subhash Pawar.
He is one of the most senior MLAs of Thane district today who has become MLA for the fifth consecutive time.
After the victory, Kishan Kathore warned all the leaders who worked against him, saying, “I will not let the leaders worked against me win any election in the future.” Kathore won again in the Murbad assembly constituency, overcoming all the opposition, including the anger of union minister Kapil Patil, who was defeated after the Lok Sabha elections, the open displeasure of Patil’s supporters, the withdrawal of Shiv Sena’s Badlapur city chief Vaman Mhatre from the campaign in the Mahayuti, and the open campaigning of the opposition candidate by some Shiv Sena corporators. In his speech after the victory, Kathore said, “All the leaders who came together against me. I promise you that I will not let any such leaders win any election now,” Kathore gave an indirect warning to Kapil Patil and Vaman Mhatre.
Kathore also said, “I will not spare the traitors who spread false rumours. Do not bring any traitor before me from now on. I will consider those who bring traitors to me as traitors.” Therefore, it will be important to see what turn the politics in Badlapur and Murbad will take from now on, coming under the Murbad assembly.
