21 - Years - Old Woman Was Gangraped By Three In Ambernath All Arrested

A 21-year-old woman was gangraped by three men, including a friend of hers, at Ambernath in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) of Maharashtra on Sunday (January 2). Following a complaint, all the accused were arrested by the police on Monday morning.
As per reports, the survivor and the three accused, who are aged between 21 and 25 years, are residents of the same neighbourhood. On January 2 evening, she was on her way back home when one of the accused asked her to accompany him to a party. He was her close friend, according to a report published by Hindustan Times.
The woman was taken to a shanty in Shivaji Nagar. Her friend and two of his friends sexually assaulted her by threatening to murder her using a broken bottle of beer. The three were in an inebriated state. As she attempted to escape, they physically assaulted her for more than two hours, the HT report stated.
The woman, after returning home, narrated her harrowing ordeal before her family members, following which a police complaint was lodged. The police constituted three teams to crack the case. The three accused were arrested on Monday morning, senior police inspector M Bhoge said. Bhoge further mentioned that the accused have been booked under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
In another incident, a man impersonating as a police officer allegedly raped two minor girls at a village in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district on Saturday reportedly after he found them with their male friends. A complaint regarding this was lodged at the Kurupam police station in the night, following which the accused, identified as V Rambabu (35) was arrested.
The minor girls were sent for medical examination. The accused has been booked under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Vizianagaram police chief Deepika M Patil said, adding that the chargesheet in the case will be filed in a week
