Dev—Kalyan police launch campaign against drug addicts and hooligans

Kalyan: Kalyan Zone police has started a special campaign against drug addicts and hooligans across the city. The move comes after the incident of rape of a 13-year-old girl in Kalyan recently.
So far, action has been taken against more than 300 people in the last five days in 8 police stations of Kalyan Zone, which includes 102 drug addicts.
The crackdown is being led by Kalyan Zone DCP Atul Zende. Zende, along with local police personnel, visits gardens, vacant spaces, and playgrounds in Kalyan-Dombivli late in the night which are popular among people who consume drugs or alcohol. The suspects are taken to the local police station of that area for questioning.
Zende has appealed to the people that if they see anyone consuming drugs, they should contact the local police personnel or control room. —Pradeep Gupta
