NEW DELHI: A letter with a bomb threat was found on Chennai-bound Indigo flight on Sunday which had 169 passengers aboard including a minister and a high court judge.
The CISF personnel checked the flight and the passengers thoroughly. Later the flight took off to Chennai around 6pm. The airline authorities have lodged a complaint with Peelamedu police.
No casualties have been reported so far.
This comes only a day after a Sharjah-bound Air India Express flight with 150 aboard aborted its trip due to a hydraulic snag.
It landed in Trichy safely. A team from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered probe on Saturday.
The Boeing 737 (VT-AYB) aircraft (flight IX-613) experienced a malfunction shortly after takeoff at around 5.40pm on Friday. The pilots opted to abort the flight and return to Trichy, circling the airspace near the Trichy-Pudukottai border to burn off fuel for a safe landing, in case a belly landing became necessary. After two and a half hours in the air, the aircraft safely landed at the airport at 8.15pm, sparking various theories and speculations during the wait.
