NEW DELHI: The Mumbai Police on Sunday said that it was investigating if there was any Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi angle to the murder case of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique. This came after a letter was posted on social media claiming to be from Bishnoi gang and took responsibility of the murder.
With an unexpected start, the letter opens with a poem by Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar: “Jeewan ka mulya samajhta hu, dhan ko mai dhool samajhta hu! Kiya wahi satkarm tha jo nibhaya, nibhaya mitrata ka dharm tha jo.”
The post very clearly states that anyone who “helps” Salman Khan and the Dawood gang would have to “settle their accounts.”
“Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you harmed our brother. Baba Siddique’s chapter has closed today, or he was once under the MCOCA Act with Dawood. The reason for his death is Anuj Thapan and Dawood, who were to be linked with Bollywood, politics, and property dealings. We have no enmity with anyone, but whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang will have to settle their accounts,” the facebook post under Shubuu Lonkar’s name said.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police said, “We are investigating all angles to this case including Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi’s angles.”
Heavy police security deployed outside Salman Khan’s residence Galaxy at Bandra in Mumbai.
The actor paid tribute to Siddique at the late NCP leader’s home in Bandra. Accompanied by his bodyguard Shera, Salman was seen leaving Siddique’s residence in the Maqba Heights apartments on Sunday evening.
Salman was among the first film celebrities to visit the hospital on Saturday night to support Siddique’s family. Other family members, including Sohail Khan, Sshura Khan, Arpita Khan Sharma, and Alvira Agnihotri, along with friend Iulia Vantur, were also spotted heading to Siddique’s home later that evening.
