PUSHKAR/SAHARANPUR: The Ram temple and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s reference to ‘shakti‘ PM Modi referred to these recurrent themes in his speeches at election rallies in UP and Rajasthan on Saturday. Criticising Congress poll manifesto, he said it is “completely cut off from the country’s aspirations and cannot take the nation forward in the 21st century.Modi is for the nation, 24×7 for 2047.”
“In Ayodhya, Ram Lalla’s temple was not an electoral promise, but our mission. This Ram Navami, Ram ji will give darshan not in a tent but in a massive temple,” he said in Saharanpur.
Referring to remarks on ‘shakti’ by Rahul Gandhi, but without naming him, Modi said, “Can anyone destroy ‘shakti’? Can anyone challenge the power of ‘shakti’? What happened to those who tried to destroy ‘shakti’? Well, it is all mentioned in the Puranas. This place is ‘mahashakti’.”
Attacking SP-Congress pact, PM Modi said, “Two boys (Rahul and Akhilesh Yadav) whose film was a huge flop last time, have released the same film again. I don’t understand ‘is kaath ki handi ko ye INDI gathbandhan wale kitni baar chalayenge?”
On triple talaq, Modi said, “We got rid of the hanging sword. Muslim daughters will continue to bless me for centuries to come.”
Congress had unveiled its manifesto, Nyay Patra, in Delhi on April 5, and was slammed by BJP as “unrealistic”. Modi asked the crowd if it believed Congress can work in favour of the country. The crowd’s response was a resounding “No”.
Speaking in Pushkar, he criticised Congress for punishing a party politician simply for attending consecration of Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya. “Is it dignified for Congress to penalise its leader for participating in the ceremony in Ayodhya? It doesn’t end there, they have expelled the leader for six years,” he said, adding, “Can you even imagine our country without Lord Ram? In our culture, we greet each other with ‘Ram Ram’, and even at funerals we chant ‘Ram Naam’.”
He said Congress feels it is their birthright to hurl insults at Modi. “I am a worker who can withstand any amount of abuse thrown my way…,” PM Modi said.
