NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday asked people to share their feedback on the party’s manifesto, which he said was hailed by people as being ‘revolutionary.’
“The Congress manifesto is the voice of every Indian, share your thoughts on social media,” the congress leader said in a video posted on Instagram.
“I made this video last night at 12:30am, but my team thought it was too late to post.So I’m posting it now because the message is still relevant,” he added in the post that went along with the video, which was made available at around 10 on Sunday morning.
Rahul said that he created the video after returning from the Telangana protest and that many people had informed him it was a “revolutionary” manifesto.

He also thanked the people who helped shape the manifesto.
Congress had unveiled its manifesto on April 5 at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi. The manifesto, released by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge alongside former presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, focused on the party’s commitment to justice through its ‘five pillars.’
Titled ‘Nyay Patra’, the manifesto centered around ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’, and ‘Hissedari Nyay’. Additionally, it encompassed the pledges made by the party in its electoral promises for the upcoming polls.

Social justice – 50% cap on reservations
The manifesto of the party outlined plans to carry out a comprehensive socio-economic and caste census across the nation, aimed at documenting the various castes and sub-castes along with their socio-economic status.
Steps for gender equality – Job quota for women
The party also promised that it will reserve one-half (50 per cent) of central government jobs for women starting in 2025.
Law to recognize LGBTQIA+ civil union
Congress announced that following extensive consultations, they will introduce legislation to formally acknowledge civil unions among LGBTQIA+ couples.
MSP promised for farmers
Congress also announced its commitment to providing a legal assurance for the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) set by the government annually, aligning with the recommendations put forth by the Swaminathan Commission
Lok Sabha Elections 2024 would be held in seven phases starting on April 19 and ending on June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.
