Park Shin Hye took home the big prizes at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards and gave a heartfelt tribute to husband Choi Tae Joon.
It had been three years since her last drama, so a comeback was much due from Park Shin Hye to the K-drama world in 2024 through ‘Doctor Slump‘ and ‘The Judge from Hell’, which became very critically acclaimed. On December 21, she was nominated for two major awards the Director’s Award and the Best Couple Award at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards along with Kim Jae Young from ‘The Judge from Hell’.
During her acceptance speech for the Director’s Award, Park Shin Hye warmed hearts with a rare and emotional tribute to her husband, Choi Tae Joon. With tears streaming down her face, she said, “I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the first time. Thank you for cheering me on and saying that I’m doing well, even though my self-esteem is lower than I thought.”
Her words really touched the audience’s hearts, with most of them visibly emotional. Park Shin Hye also reflected on the big changes that have happened in her life over the last couple of years, focusing on how Choi Tae Joon has been a rock who never wavered, supporting her and how it strengthened their relationship.
She had performed magnificently in ‘The Judge from Hell’ as the demon judge, Kang Bit Na, punishing wicked people. She showed an extraordinary talent for drawing complex characters, which proved to be an out-of-character role because of what she had previously done in ‘Doctor Slump’.
In the coming times, she is reported to be seen in another new romantic comedy called ‘Chair Time’. If the news has any truth to it then it would be about another fantastic move of her role, this time as a dental hygienist capable of managing, which too, would be remembered for years.
She continues attracting fans through her touching speech and exceptional talent, hence becoming one of South Korea’s favorite actresses.
