Sebastian Klauke joined the Otto Group Executive Board on 1 May, 2019 assuming responsibility for e-commerce, technology, business intelligence and corporate ventures. Previously, the 45-year-old physicist worked for the Boston Consulting Group, co-founded Autoda.de and was a partner and managing director of BCG Digital Ventures GmbH before being appointed Chief Digital Officer of the Otto Group in July 2017.
Sebastian Klauke now intends to follow a very exciting call from a company outside the Otto Group. “As much as we regret Sebastian Klauke’s decision to leave our Group,” says Prof. Dr. Michael Otto, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, “we can understand his ambition and decision.” The succession planning will be appointed at a later date.
Sebastian Klauke will leave Otto Group’s Executive Board by April 30, 2025 at the latest to pursue a new opportunity outside the group.
Klauke joined the board in 2019, focusing on e-commerce, technology, and corporate ventures.
His successor will be announced later.
Prof. Dr. Michael Otto expressed understanding for Klauke’s decision despite the group’s regret.
