Thane: A 7-year-old boy studying in class 2 was brutally beaten with a stick by a teacher because he did not understand the spelling of an English word. The incident took place at South Indian School in Ambernath West.
The class teacher, Vijayshree Shakewar, hit the boy on his back and legs. The child’s mother registered a case against the teacher at Ambernath west police station. The mother grew suspicious as after the child returned from school he was silent. On coaxing him, he narrated the incident.
The police said the teacher is yet to be arrested in the case.
