The planned $104-million textile cluster in Yevlakh by Uzbekistan’s Global Textile company will cover the entire process from cotton cultivation to finished products.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan recently allocated $0.52 billion for seven joint projects in the former.
These include two textile clusters each in Yevlakh and Imishli districts by the latter’s Global Textile and TST Group respectively, a textile factory in Khankendi by Business Tex, and a gypsum and plasterboard production plant in in Gamashi district.
The $6-million textile factory in Khankendi will be developed with Uzbekistan’s Business Tex, expanding textile production capacity in the region.
The planned $54-million textile cluster in Imishli will facilitate the entire production chain, from cotton harvesting to final products, in partnership with Uzbekistan’s TST Group, according to Azeri media outlets.
The planned $20-million gypsum and plasterboard production plant will produce 350 tonnes of products daily.
