NEW DELHI: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday called BJP a party of terrorists over PM Modi‘s remark that Congress has been taken over by Urban Naxals.
Congress chief further accused BJP of lynching and raping tribals. “Progressive people are being called Urban Naxals…this is his habit. His party itself is a terrorist party. They do lynching, hit people, urinate in the mouths of people from scheduled castes, rape tribal people. They also support those people who do all these. Then they blame others, (PM )Modi has no right to say this. Wherever his govt is there, atrocities are committed on people of scheduled castes, especially tribals. Then he keeps talking about atrocities, it is your govt, you can control it,” said Kharge.
Union minister Giriraj Singh while responding to Kharge’s remarks said that those who stand with terrorism are saying this to others.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi also rebuked the Congress president and accused Congress of supporting Triple Talaq, Halala, polygamy etc.
Additionally, BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that this is an insult to the people’s wisdom who voted for BJP. He also accused Congress of being the most anti-Dalit party.
“Crores of people have voted for BJP in 2014, 19 and now in 2024. This is an insult to the people’s wisdom but Congress has made it a habit. They put Parivar Tantra about everything else. They have doubted the results of the EVM in Haryana. They have blamed the EVM, the Election Commission and then the people. They have called the public ‘Rakshasi’. They are saying that the people have elected terrorists. They have always used such kind of language abusing PM Modi. They are abusing the OBC Samaj and the people. This shows the character and the DNA of Congress. They gave the reservation of SC/ST from Jamia and AMU to Muslims… Congress is the most anti-Dalit party,” said Poonawalla.
PM Modi, last week, while addressing a rally Maharashtra’s Washim said that Congress has been taken over by a “gang of urban Naxals” who want to promote their agenda by dividing people.
“They think that if we all unite, then their agenda to divide the country will fail. Everyone can see how closely Congress stands with people who don’t harbour good intentions for India. The Congress wants to keep Dalits as Dalits, the poor as poor. So, beware of the Congress. Urban Naxals are running the Congress. The party wants to divide the country, so it is trying to divide us. So, be united to foil the Congress party’s plot. This is the time to be together,” PM Modi had said in the rally.
