MUMBAI: Goa-based airline FLY91 has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa’s tourism department to promote sustainable travel. The agreement was signed at the Goa International Travel Mart on Wednesday, said the airline.
“Through the MoU, FLY91 expressed its commitment to develop and promote the Department of Tourism’s priorities. Specifically, FLY91 will promote domestic and inbound tourism to Goa, conduct activities that contribute to further develop sustainable tourism in the picturesque state, and strengthen the Goa government’s initiatives to empower hospitality businesses,” it said.In turn, the Department of Tourism will promote the ‘FLY91’ brand at various B2C conferences and forums where the Goa government is scheduled to participate. The Department will support FLY91 at leading travel exhibitions, while also promoting FLY91 operations on the Goa Tourism social media handles.
The two-year agreement identifies broad areas of future cooperation and partnership between Goa government’s Department of Tourism and FLY91, which can help attract high-end tourists seeking diverse and quality experiences, the airline said.
Commenting on the MoU, Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, FLY91 said, “FLY91 is committed to promoting tourism in Goa through various initiatives that highlight the state’s unique identity. This MoU sets out broad areas of future cooperation and partnership between the Department of Tourism and FLY91 and we are delighted to be working closely with the state government.”
“As part of our ongoing efforts to attract tourists from around the globe, the Department of Tourism is dedicated to developing world-class infrastructure and promoting Goa as a destination for immersive travel experiences. Through this partnership with Just Udo Aviation Private Limited, we aim to leverage their expertise and resources to enhance tourism promotion efforts in the region,” said Director of Tourism and MD Goa Tourism Development Corporation, Government of Goa, Suneel Anchipaka, IAS.
FLY91 (Just Udo Aviation Private Limited) is a pure play regional airline headquartered in Goa and its first base is state’s Manohar International Airport, Mopa. The airline focus is on air connectivity across tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India. The airline launched services in March with the inaugural flight from Goa to Bengaluru. On its maiden day of operations, Fly91 also flew to Sindhudurg from Bengaluru. The airline has schedules to fly between Goa, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Sindhudurg, while next month it plans to connect to Agatti, Jalgaon, and Pune in April. Under the current schedule the airline operates flights between Goa and Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Sindhudurg on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. Additionally, they’ll fly between Goa and Hyderabad, as well as Sindhudurg and Hyderabad twice a week. FLY91 has its head office in Goa.
