PUSHKAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence on Saturday that BJP would win a third term and assured he was ready to make major decisions to tackle corruption in the first 100 days of his third term.
Addressing a rally in Pushkar (Ajmer), he said, “Modi’s fight against corruption will continue. And the third term of my govt is not far away. In the first 100 days, the BJP govt is gearing up to take even bigger decisions against corruption.Preparation for this has also begun. That’s why I say what you saw in the last 10 years was just a trailer. There is much more to come.”
Modi said, “Ek toh karela, duja neem chadha (bitter gourd, with neem on top), it is a party of dynasties and equally one of corruption… Modi has pulled down the shutters of their shop of loot. That is why they are in a panic.”
The PM accused Congress of “outsourcing” its entire existence. “The party seems to have delegated all its responsibilities under contract. With such a state, can Congress effectively serve the nation’s interests,” he asked.
He claimed that in the past 10 years, over Rs 30 lakh crore had been spent on various development policies, with beneficiaries receiving money directly into their accounts. “A Congress PM once claimed that if one rupee was sent from Delhi, only 15 paise would reach its destination. Imagine the consequences if they had control over Rs 30 lakh crore. It was discovered that Congress had created lakhs of fake beneficiaries who never existed. Schemes were initiated in their names, diverting rightful funds directly into hands of Congress middlemen,” the PM alleged.
