AGARTALA: Acting on a specific information, BSF troops deployed in Shyampara BOP under Sabroom Police station of South Tripura, apprehended as many as nine Bangladeshi nationals on Saturday in separate operations.
BSF officials said four of them including a female were trying to negotiate the border fencing take the advantage of apparent isolation in the area.All apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Chattogram in Bangladesh.
In another operation on specific information, a Bangladeshi national was apprehended in Anandpur BOP area of Sonamura in Sephaijala district an hour later of the first detention.
He was found in possession of Bangladeshi currency value 3600 Taka and Indian Rs 3000 /-. The apprehended Bangladeshi national is a resident of Dhaka, BSF stated.
A BSF release said the troops conducted further operations that led to the apprehension of two illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Dharmanagar of North Tripura and Rs 5540 from their possession. Apprehended Bangladesh nationals are residents of Dhaka and Cumilla of Bangladesh respectively.
In a separate coordinated joint operation conducted by BSF with agencies, two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at Agartala railway station while they were attempting to board the train on Saturday wee hours.
